My advice is to use a small purse, bag or camera case. Thats a waste of my time. So, I returned the product for a full refund. Yes, the toughskin protects your garmin from bumps and bruises. Its alot cheaper, especially considering the times. What I did'nt like is that I could not plug my charger into the back with the toughskin & clip on. The protective screen is also helpful against scratches and fingerprints. I'm not going to take the toughskin off every time I charge it.
Somebody in QC needs to pay more attention, though (or redesign it). I wound up shaving about 1/4" from the opening for the USB port to make it fit.Otherwise, though, a decent product. But there's no way I could return it now.
The clip fit onto my Nuvi 260 with the skin on, and the window mount fit that too (Speck claim it fits the 260 on their website, although Amazon's site doesn't reflect that). Is mine the only one like this. Opened it up, put it on - fits great.
I didn't see a single other review that mentions this.After about an hour with a file and utility knife, it all fits. It would be a simple fix for them, but requires a little time and patience for me to do. Perfect.But then I tried to plug in a USB cable to the USB port.
Nothing lined up, so I had to remove the skin every time I wanted to connect to the computer, or recharge the unit.
It is stuck on the unit in a one-shot-only awkward process. The cover fits nicely on my 265T, all ports/openings are fully accessible. If you want to use the case with anything other than the included belt holder, you need to pass on this item. Additionally, despite the claim, the car mount for the 265T/275T cannot be used with this case on the unit.The compatibility with the car mount and other accessories such as the bike mount, are the primary reason I chose this case. The cover has a nice sturdy thick rubbery feel. However, the screen protector is about 1mm too small in each direction for the 265T/275T.
Design also provides protection against inadvertent tuning on of the unit. Unit still fits in the Case Logic AGPS-2 3.5" case even with the Speck Toughskin on it which shows how snug the Speck Toughskin fits. This is a quality custom fit rubber protection case. I am confident it would prevent case damage if dropped. Well worth the price. All the external ports, controls and mounting points remain totally accessible. No need to remove the case to use all functions of the unit.
So, I then put the clip on the 260 without the case and then inserted it in the case to see where the ball clip was. It works perfectly. The Speck case fits snugly around the Nuvi 260 but its thickness prevents the Garmin windshield mount from wrapping around the Nuvi and clicking into position. I then cut a small hole and trimmed around it to let the ball through. Just put the clip on the 260 and then put the whole thing in the case. I first trimmed a bit off of each end of the case hoping that would hold the clip. It would, but would keep falling off.
